Playerunknown's Battleground is currently available as a part of Steam's Early Access program, and has been since March 23rd, 2017. It's currently unknown (pardon the pun) when the title will be coming to the PlayStation 4, or any other console for that matter.

For those that don’t know: PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is a third-person battle-royale, last-man-standing shooter from PLAYERUNKNOWN aka Brendan Green, a pioneer of the Battle Royale genre. As the creator of the Battle Royale game-mode found in the ARMA series and H1Z1: King of the Hill, Greene is co-developing the game with the aforementioned Bluehole. And apparently Green has struck gold.


The details come via Game Informer who relay that the first map is an island Suggested Internet site on the Adriatic Sea, which was part of the Yugoslavian territories. In the game, players start with nothing and must fight to locate weapons and supplies in a battle to be the lone survivor. Described as a "realistic" and "high tension," the game takes place on a large 8×8 km island built in Unreal Engine 4. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is currently in Early Access and available for PC through Steam for $29.99. The game is set to launch in 2018. An Xbox One version will be available sometime this year through its Game Preview program. Although developer Bluehole Studios only expected the title to ship only 200,000 to 300,000 units , it substantially surpassed those numbers and has sold over 10 million copies since debut
