This information was first spotted by reddit user Defying , when the question was asked whether it was considered acceptable to edit configuration files. In response to the question, Bluehole responded by stating the following:

"No, editing any game files to gain an unfair advantage is against the Rules of Conduct. This includes changing any game configuration files to result in changes that cannot be made via the in-game settings menu."
